City Code

Most cities have their own in particulars about where you can and can't put the yard signs. There are Two general rules to go by, first being try to avoid the more obviously maintained ground and focus on locations that appear less maintained. Second, go with locations that already have signs on them and place your sign along side the others.

All cities have possible consequences for putting out bandit signs or yard signs. When the yard signs are picked up by Code Enforcement, they will give you a call to let you know that they have your sign, they have it because it is in violation, and that if you want it back you can call and pick it up at their office. That is the standard call and what I recommend is to call them back. In nearly all my encounters with code in all cities, they have been nice and given me tips.

Yes, you can go back to these cities. Just do it the right way, follow the two rules and add this third. Only put out five yard signs per small city (Avondale, Goodyear, or Peoria for example). These cities are trying to grow and don't yet realize what kind of a boost to net earnings the average small business owner will see from these signs.

Code Enforcement is just doing a job. Be nice to them, respect them when they ask you not to flood their city with bandit signs and don't take it personal because it is everyone else on the line when you berate a code officer.

Az cities signs have worked for my clients:
Avondale, Tolleson, Laveen, Litchfield, Buckeye, Peoria, Surprise, Phoenix, Mesa, Scottsdale, Chandler, Tempe, and more..
